BACKGROUND:

PERSONALITY:
Whereas the first Batman operated out of a sense of vengeance, Terry operates out of a sense of responsibility. While both men may have been sparked into their costumed lives by a loss, Terry was much older when his father was murdered, and while he grieves for his loss, he never allows it to consume him in the same way it did Bruce. Instead, being Batman gives him an outlet for his already existing anger issues stemming him from his parents divorce and a way to atone for his past criminal life.

This makes him, for the most part, a more well-rounded Batman, a Batman who is unafraid to quip or smile, but at the same time never loses sight of the importance of the symbol he’s become and the mission he’s taken on. He can go from making a wisecrack about a villain’s appearance or modus operandi to dangling him from a rooftop demanding answers without blinking an eye, and he doesn’t see either aspect as more important when it comes to being Batman.

Unlike his predecessor, Terry isn’t nearly as skilled a detective. He has a tendency to rely on Bruce for information and guidance, and has on more than occasion made moves that only made things worse, for either himself or the GCPD, despite thinking they were the right moves to make at the time. That said, he isn’t completely oblivious, and is capable of making deductive leaps, even under pressure, that ultimately help him to win the day over whoever he may face. Once, he even managed to determine the hideout of a villain before Bruce, stunning the old man.

He's also impulsive, and has a tendency to leap into action without having all of the facts. As previously mentioned, this leads to him on occasion making a situation worse, and even once gaining the ire of the police department for accidentally ruining a sting operation. A lot of his impulsiveness stems from the fact he's still a kid and thinks he knows everything, but it also goes a little deeper. Terry would never admit it, but he likes getting into fights and the rush of adrenaline it brings. This isn't to say that he would start a fight unprovoked, but if he even remotely thinks the person in front of him might be guilty, whatever he's got in front of him is all the evidence he needs... even if he finds out he's wrong later. It's a fault he seems to be aware of and working on, as over the course of the series he's gotten much less impulsive than he was at the start.

Terry’s still very much a teenager who places value in very typical teenager things, such as friends, dating, homework, and sleep, and he views these aspects of him as just as important as, or sometimes more important than, his nighttime activities. He believes that finding a balance should be possible (though he hasn’t found it yet), and tries not to sacrifice any one of them for another (though his nighttime activities usually win out in the end).

At his high school he’s not the most popular kid, but his circle of friends are loyal to him because they know Terry will always have their back. Several times his friends have found themselves in trouble and Terry has both publicly (and sometimes privately as Batman) gone out of his way to help them. Furthermore, he’s friendly to anyone, regardless of their social status, and will go out of his way to step in if he sees someone being bullied or agree to attend their social function in the hopes of boosting attendance. Unless they’re a jerk, it’s pretty easy to talk to Terry, or to find some kind of common ground.

Terry’s willing to see the best in people, while not letting himself be blinded by the fact there is, in fact, evil in this world, and that not everyone can be saved. He’s willing to give people second chances, in the same way that he himself was given a second chance, to the point where he will go out of his way to help someone, but should they not take him up on his offer, or worse, betray his trust, they better run because he’s not willing to forgive after that.

POWER:
Superpowered suit - Terry will be bringing his Batsuit with him to Mask or Menace. As the suit was designed by Bruce, it’s a veritable bag of holding of gadgets and technology. It’s main functions are that it grants the wearer enhanced strength, agility, and endurance, and that it has rocket boots for minimal flight capabilities, retractable wings for gliding, and a cloaking device that renders the wearer completely invisible to the eye (but can still be sensed by scent, sound, or touch). More information on the suit and a full list of its gadgets can be found here.

(For Ace; See Final Notes) Partial Kryptonian Canine Physiology - If possible, I'd like for Ace to gain abilities instead of Terry. When Terry is within 50 feet of Ace, the dog gains enhanced durability, stamina, speed, and the ability to fly while still in range. If Ace is past the allotted range, he retains his normal canine physiology. This power doesn't work on other dogs.

FINAL NOTES:
I’d like for Terry to be able to come in with Bruce Wayne’s dog, Ace. He’s an ordinary but highly trained black Great Dane mix who serves as Bruce’s protector and companion. While Bruce’s dog, Terry comes into constant contact with him over the course of the series, and the two become rather close. Additionally, among Terry’s jobs working for Mr. Wayne, walking Ace is one of them, so it wouldn’t be out of character for the two to be together without Bruce. More information on Ace can be found here.
